This tour by Vogelsang Tours Ltd is ideal for families or couples looking for a short safari holiday.
The safari game drives are spread out over the two days to try to maximize game viewing opportunities and possibly spot any game of interest that may have been missed the day before.
Itineraries
Day 1
Mombasa to Tsavo East via Nairobi-Mombasa Highway
We begin the trip to Tsavo East National Park with an early pick-up from your hotel at about 06.00 am. The journey takes you along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, where the traditional coastal culture slowly and noticeably begins to transform into semi-arid terrain the closer we approach the Park.
After approximately two hours you will arrive at the Tsavo East Bachuma gate where your safari game drives will begin inside the park searching for some of the big five.
At the size of 22000sqkm, Tsavo is one of the world's largest wildlife sanctuaries and is most noted for its dust-covered red elephant herds, maneless lions, and a variety of other wild animals including cheetah, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and other plain game.
On arrival at Ashinil Lodge, you will be assisted with check-in and thereafter enjoy your lunch and a short siesta.
In the afternoon we continue with another series of game viewing in search of more wildlife in the wilderness.
We then return to the Lodge before sunset for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Early Morning Game Drive
The following day at 06.00hrs enjoy some coffee or tea at the Lodge before departing for an early morning game drive searching for big cats and other animals of interest that might have come out into the open over the night.
After the game drive, you will then return to the Lodge for a full breakfast.
After checking out at your Lodge, at 10.00hrs, we begin the return journey via the Mombasa- Nairobi highway to be dropped at your beach hotel in the late afternoon which completes the two-day Tsavo East National Park trip.
