This might be a short safari from Mombasa to Tsavo West National Park, yet an awesome experience in the true African bush and wildlife. Tsavo West is the home for red-elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, impalas,dikdik, and the most elusive leopards. The park is 7000sqkm in size and it is covered by volcanic lava and volcanic rocks hence making it the best place to spot Leopards, clipspringers, and Lions.

Itineraries

Day 1

Mombasa to Tsavo West via SGR

You will be picked up from your coastal hotel and transferred to Mombasa railway station(SGR)for the morning train departing at 08:00 am. The train ride will take about 2 hours via Tsavo East National Park to your final station (Mtito Andei)where you will be picked up and driven to "Severin Safari Camp" through Tsavo West National Park. The transit to the camp is approx 2 hours with a game drive en-route, arriving at the camp in time for Lunch.

Check-in and relax at the Severin Safari camp.

In the afternoon you will depart for a game viewing drive, with the highest chance to spot some plain game, including, red elephants, giraffes, ostriches, zebras, elands, leopards, and the dik-dik the smallest in the antelopes family.

Dinner and overnight stay at Severin Camp.

Day 2-

A day in Tsavo West with a view of Mount Kiliimanjaro

Depart the Lodge early in the morning before breakfast and embark on a super morning game drive with the best chance to see from the western side of the park the "snow-capped peaks" of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Return to the Lodge for breakfast and thereafter depart for another mid-morning game drive which will take you to Mzima Springs (an oasis) in Tsavo National Park. This spring produces millions of gallons of crystal clear water both for animal and human use. This is the best place to spot the hippopotamus, crocodiles, and different types of fish in their symbiotic nature.

Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Severin Camp.

Day 3

Checkout and Departure back to Mombasa via SGR

After an early morning breakfast, check out from your accommodation and drive to (Mtito Andei)railway station (SGR)for your onward train back to Mombasa.
